Broken River 

Broken River is one of NZ's unique "Club" fields, run and maintained by Broken River Ski Club members. They're open to the public. You don't need to be a member to be ski there, so don't be shy.  They love to see you on their slopes. They are extremely proud of their Club, it's heritage and what the mountain offers.  A strong, close-knit community is as important as the great terrain and riding.  So, if you are after something special and a little different then you've come to the right place .

There are various transport modes to get there but we think we offer the safest and best value for money to experience a unique piece of NZ.  Prices are structured on making a small profit, keeping local drivers employed and skiing.

Rates and packages winter 2024

Please read before you book:

• the rate you will be charged is $95* per person
• your pick up times for morning run start from 6.30 am to 7.45 am and you need to be outside ready for pick up
• if you want to travel after that time then it becomes a charter rate for the van.  Scroll down
• the Tyndall Tramway has operating hours of 8.30 am to 11.30 and 3.30 pm to 5.30, for you and your baggage
• we like to avoid running against the traffic for safety reasons so transfers need to comply with our H&S policy
• at times we reserve the right to combine BR customers with Porters customers.  We drop them off as quickly and courteously as we can before we head to BR. The bonus side is a great coffee can be had at Porters while you wait.

Airport transfer options:

Before arrival you would have received an email from us with a mobile phone number to text, if you didn't then start looking for a white Toyota Fortuner or silver Toyota Hiace 4wd van with a roof box on the top and a Smylies logo driving around the pick up area under the covered car park.  If we are picking you up from a hotel we will have talked to you and hope to see you outside the front.

Budget option: This is for airport pick ups.  Once you have exited the terminal with your luggage and are ready to travel, you can then text the driver.  He will then come to the covered short term parking building and pick you up there. As you come out of the customs/maf doors look straight ahead to the outside doors that will take you across the courtyard area to the pick up / drop off area under the covered parking garage.

Deluxe options: At the airport, for an extra $25 per pick up (not person), your driver will wait for you with a sign with Smylies and your name on it and parking will be in the car/bus park.  If you want to be picked up at your hotel outside the airport precinct there is a $10 pp surcharge.
